Assalamualaikum and hello everyone.
This is the journey of a girl.
She started wearing a simple, black bawal hijab. A normal sized black hijab to cover her aurah. Not too lengthy at that time. That was all she wore to cover her head. Everyday, everywhere, a variety of black hijabs.
She entered a boarding school. Tarbiyyah by those people surrounding her. Observe and learn. She tried to adapt. She started to increase the width and thickness of her hijabs. It is hard for her at first. People questioned her if she was wearing someone's else hijab, just because she tried to wear a longer hijab for her school attire. It bothered her for a while, but she knew, people will soon understand why she changed.
Growing older. She tried to get rid of her hijabs that are just 'cukup-cukup makan'. Not all, but some. She began replacing her hijabs with Akel's hijabs (http://nurhijabhouse.blogspot.com/) and shawls that are more lengthy. Wearing an inner for hijabs that are 'jarang'. Now, she had a solution for her hijabs that are 'jarang'. (http://laskarpewlangi.blogspot.com/2011/09/isu-tudung-yang-jarang.html)
Instagram and Facebook. Subscribing and buying online hijabs and shawls. Sometimes she over spend on those unnnecessary stuffs. Buying those just because she wants to look more beautiful and obliviously, she slipped from Allah's simple guidance in covering women's aurah.
Trying to be better. She realized not to be a shopaholic in buying hijabs and hopefully, will keep on remembering to just wear what she has because she knows that they are enough for her and in shaa Allah they already suit Allah's guidance.
We are trying to wear a better hijab.
Better in terms of length and thickness of hijabs. Not just in terms of fashion.
Do not be a fashion victim.
A piece of reminder for you and me.

It's true that hijab can be in any form. Hihi. Before this I just wear simple bawal , but nowadays Wide Shawl quite good for covering our aurah :)
ReplyDelete:) Yes, wide shawl is nice too. However, the Bawals can also be worn, however we have to consider the thickness and the length. Neesa, thanks for commenting ;)
